The NOPE! Book Tag

Hello there! Yes, no new book review again for this week. Gaming is currently taking center stage in my life (aside from work) and I haven’t read in awhile. Well, I started reading Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer the other day, and I just finished chapter one last night. Yes, that slow.

Anyway, today I decided to do another book tag. I saw this tag on Jacquie of Rattle the Stars The Nope! Book Tag so don’t forget to check her out. It was interesting so I decided to do it. No one tagged me. #sadlife

NOPE! Ending: a book ending that made you go NOPE either in denial, rage or simply because the ending was crappy

I will choose What Lies Between Us by John Marrs. I know that I like the way that book ended but I really would have preferred something different or extreme.

NOPE! Protagonist: a main character you dislike and drives you crazy

Probably, Alina of the Grisha Trilogy. She is the most boring character ever.

NOPE! Pairing: a “ship” you don’t support

Since I am recently rereading the Twilight saga, I have to say no, a hard no to that Jacob and Renesmee thing. It felt like she was just grooming Renesmee. I don’t care about that whole imprint stuff. It was just wrong.

NOPE! Genre: a genre you will never read

I will never read hardcore erotica, if there is such a thing as that. (I Googled and there is) The “wildest” one I probably read was the Fifty Shades books.

NOPE! Book format: book formatting you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition

I don’t have any problems with book formats. A book is still a book. Whatever format it is, as long as it caught my illusive attention, I will read it.

NOPE! Trope: a trope that makes you go NOPE

I hate instalove. For me there is no such a thing as an instant love. I would rather follow how the two characters develop their relationship over time.

NOPE! Recommendation: a book recommendation that is constantly pushed at you, that you simply refuse to read

Hahahaha (hello Vim if you are reading this) I have to say ACOTAR. There are some people, aside from my good friend Vim, that kept on recommending me that series.

NOPE! Cliche: a cliche or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes

Ok, the first thing I thought of was that ” I let out a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding“. This will always make my eye roll.

NOPE! Love interest: the love interest that’s not worthy of being one

I don’t really have any answers for this.

NOPE! Book: a book that shouldn’t have existed

Life and Death :Twilight Reimagined by Stephenie Meyer. Why, just why? No one needs it. If Meyer just wrote a book about Carlisle’s struggles and life with the Volturi, I will gladly read that instead.

NOPE! Villain: a villain you would hate to cross

Any villain in Westeros.

NOPE! Death: a character death that still haunts you

Spoiler but Hedwig.

NOPE! Author: an author you had a bad experience reading for and have decided to quit

I will choose John Green. It was not a bad experience per se it was just I read 3 stories written by him and all were not memorable. For those of you who are curious, I read The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns and Let it Snow. I am open for recommendations though.

I’m not sure who already did this but I’m tagging this wonderful set of people:

And I tag you! If you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!

That is all for now. Thank you so much for reading. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I will talk to you again next week!

  1. Thanks for the tag! I agree with most of your answers. I loved Fault in Our Stars so I read more by John Green, but sadly that’s the only one I really liked. I read Abundance of Katherines, Turtles All The Way Down, and Looking For Alaska but they were rather meh
