Top Ten Tuesday

Books I Meant to Read In 2020 ( but Didn’t Get To)

Ahhh, 2020. What a stressful year. I have to admit that I had lot of things I was planning to do last year that I didn’t managed to do, well, because covid. I’m sure all of us are on the same boat. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is all about the books I was meant to read in 2020 but didn’t get to.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. So, join me as I list down the books that I am still looking forward to reading this new year.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

I’m currently reading this book but last week is not my week so, hopefully I’ll manage to finish this book this week.

The Immortalist by Chloe Benjamin

I just bought a physical copy of this just the other day (it was on sale! $5 for a hardbound) I’m planning to read this after Strange the Dreamer.

Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch

Another book that I got on sale and I was glad I finally have a physical copy. I’m am now planning to read this on February.

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

I tried reading this book back in June 2020 but for some reason, I was not in the mood to continue reading it. Hopefully, this year I’ll be able to finish it.

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and Owen King

Again, this is another case of “not in the mood to read”. Hopefully, I’ll have the will to read this book this year. I remember that I got this at Big Bad Wolf 2020. Ah, memories.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

I really really want to read it but I have a digital copy and I really want to have a physical one. At the moment, I am planning to read it this February.

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

I really want to read Concrete Rose but I think I’ll read this first. I’m hearing/ reading mixed reviews about this book, since I like THUG, I’m curious if I will like this or not.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

I started listening to the audio book last December. Since I like it (so far) I will continue listening to it soon.

My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

I heard that this is a dark and disturbing book. So, I want to mentally prepare for it. I mean, reading this while I’m in one of my months long depressive slump is not good.

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

Last year I decided to reread the Twilight series in preparation for this one. But lately, I was thinking of just reading this. I will add this to my February TBR.

Note that this books are what I am planning to read, at least for the first quarter of 2021. And I usually stray away from my plans so, some books mentioned might be replaced by other books.

What about you? What books are you planning to read this quarter?

That is it for me. Thank you for reading! I’ll talk to you again this Thursday for a Movie Review! Keep safe!

    1. I have high hopes for both Chloe Brown and The Immortalist. Hopefully, I’ll like them. Same thing goes with My Dark Vanessa. I am really fighting the urge to read any reviews about it!

  1. I just finished The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and I thought it was really good! I hope you get a chance to read (listen to?) more of it soon! I definitely need to read Strange the Dreamer still, too. I’ve heard wonderful things about it!

    1. I have some free time in the coming weeks, so hopefully I’ll be able to focus on some reading. 😆 I’m thinking of buying myself a physical copy of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue but I don’t have any more space in my bookshelf. As for Stranger the Dreamer, I’m liking it so far. ☺
