I am one of those bookworms that doesn’t have a clue about Romeo and Juliet. I am familiar with the names and the gist of their story but other than that, I have no clue about it.
So, when I decided to watch this anime. Even I was confused to why I did it.
Basically, this anime is about Romio Inuzuka and Juliet Persia. Leaders of opposing dormitories representing two rivalling countries known as the “Nation of Touwa” and “Principality of West”. Yes, they fell in love with each other and this anime is basically me, waiting if they will get caught and what they will do if that happens.
I have to admit that part of me watched this because I want to watch something cheesy and romantic. This anime didn’t give me that but I was still somewhat satisfied.
I was quiet entertained by the rivalry between our protagonist and their interactions with their closest friends in their respective dormitories. Yes, despite them being lovers, they manage (or at least Juliet) to go on with the whole rival thing. They are both competitive and it is refreshing to see a couple be motivated to do their best even if it is against their significant other.
As for the cute couple scenes, there are some but only a little. They didn’t even kiss in this anime, which is annoying for me. But hey, its fine.
Besides the whole thing about our couple. I was actually curious about the rivalry between “Nation of Touwa” and “Principality of West”, or just Touwa and West. The anime didn’t really explain the reason behind the rivalry and why they decided to put their students in Dahlia Academy Boarding School. I wished it was shown more since it was one of the reasons why our couple can’t go public. I can only guess. Also, I am too lazy to read the manga.
The ending of the anime was actually a bit boring? I guess. I was expecting some improvements in regards to them being a couple. In the end, they only made a promise to each other that one day, when they have nothing to fear, they can get to call each other by their first names. That was it.
And there is no season 2.
Don’t worry I managed to know what happened to them because I Googled it. I was hoping to see something tragic…but hey. At least, they finally kissed in the manga.
If you are looking for something short, easy and entertaining to watch, go watch this one. Just don’t expect those thrillingly romantic moment like in Toradora.
What about you? Did you watch this? If yes, what do you think of this anime?
Thank you so much for reading! I am still looking for some new anime to watch since I’ve already finished watching Rimuru’s second season. Some people are suggesting Demon Slayer, but I don’t know. I am kinda wary in regards to watching popular anime.
If you have some suggestions, please do leave them, in the comments!
Time to go back to work and I’ll talk to you soon!
