This is short.
I didn’t know that this movie is a comedy. I thought that this is a disaster movie like the 1998 film Armageddon. I had to adjust my expectations . . . 10 minutes into the movie. Before I continue, this is what this movie is about:
“Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem – it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care.” IMDb
I am actually glad that I found out that this movie is a comedy before I continued watching this. Or else I might have hated it.
I honestly don’t see why this is a comedy because I didn’t see anything that I consider FUNNY while watching this. Unless the comedy part is how this movie perfectly mimics how stupid people are nowadays. Then yes, this is annoyingly funny.
The entire movie will give you the glaring and obvious issues in our society. I will not tell you what those issues are. Watch this movie and you’ll know.
Despite the stupid things that are happening in this movie, I actually like how it ended. It was inevitable and actually kind of scary since there is a possibility that the events shown would actually happen. Especially THAT one part of the ending. Sadly, the possibility of those stupid idiots surviving is high. But at least, what happened or will happen to them is satisfying. (If you watched this movie already, you know who those idiots are)
This movie has big actors. I really liked how each one of them played their roles. Other than that, there is really nothing note-worthy. They did their job perfectly. That’s it.
It was a good movie. To be honest, I think that two-hour run time is too long for me. If you’re looking for something entertaining to watch, give this one a watch, if you haven’t seen this already.
What about you? What do you think of this movie?
I think I can add this to the list of movies that are entertaining and can be watched mindlessly.
If you’re looking for another review for this movie, why not give Dr. Becky’s review a watch. I just watched it after writing this review and if you are into the science parts and how accurately they are depicted in this movie, go watch her YouTube video! Here is a link to it:
Anyway, thank you so much for reading.
I am feeling tired today. So, I will just chill and work for the rest of the day.
Have a good day ahead and I’ll talk to you again this Saturday for a book review!
